Actual vehicle inspection for confirmation regarding violation of technical review and safety standards by performance test agency for automobiles manufactured

Documents for Submission

• Safety inspection application (Attached Form No. 22 of enforcement regulation)
• Data table (Attached Form. 25 of enforcement regulation)
• Exterior drawing
• Copy of technical review sheet
• Copy of import declaration form or import certificate for imported automobile (Bring original copy for comparison)
• Automobile manufacturing certificate according to 「Automobile Registration Regulations」 (For automobiles installing special device using general cargo vehicle)
• Basis for calculation of optimal load for vehicles with loading device
• Special device layout and such for vehicles equipped with special device
• Documents for basis of special acknowledgment for vehicles subject to exceptions
• Application for vehicle identification number (Motor type) marking approval (Attached Form No. 10 of enforcement regulation)
  • When not marked according to marking method designated by International Organization for Standardization (10th digit of vehicle identification number is model year) or when motor type is not marked on motor cylinder block
• ※ Proxy appointment notice and certificate of personal seal impression are required when applying for safety inspection through proxy.
• ※ Please submit vehicle specification notification documents along with safety inspection application to prevent another visit for vehicle specification notice after passing the initial safety inspection.

How to Apply

In-person (You can receive inspection after completing application with inspection vehicle before 2 PM on inspection day.) or apply via internet (http://maker.ecar.go.kr)

Processing Time

Immediately (Inspection takes place according to vehicle standby sequence when there are a lot of vehicles to be inspected.)

Safety Inspection Certificate Issuance

• Issued immediately upon passing inspection
• Inspection certificate issued upon vehicle specification notice by correcting vehicle specification when correction has been ordered due to varying vehicle specification
• Inspection certificate issued upon passing re-inspection after repairing or servicing failing items due to violation of safety standards

Fees (VAT Included)

• Initial safety inspection
  • 202,400 won (Business trip: 368,500 won, business trip travel expenses not included)
• Safety inspection aside from initial inspection
  • 102,300 won (Passenger vehicle: 61,600 won)
• Vehicle identification number marking
  • 18,500 won
• Motor type marking
  • 17,500 won
• ※ Re-inspection for safety required after failing safety inspection (Pay fees)

Other

• Safety inspection aside from initial inspection takes place at designated automobile inspection center of the public corporation.
• Shop-out inspection is possible when the site has safety inspection facility and facility survey has been performed by our lab.
