Security

  • Filming within the driving testing site without prior authorization from the person in charge of the testing facility is forbidden. However, if filming is necessary as per the nature of the test, present the filming equipment (cameras and such) to the person in charge of the testing facility control tower and receive authorization after filming to take outside.
  • All users are forbidden from leaking information acquired from the testing site such as information of other users’ testing content or of the testing facility.

General Items

  • The exterior and tires of the vehicle that goes in and out of the testing facility must always be kept in hygienic condition.
  • vehicles to enter and exit the testing facility must be inspected for flaws beforehand (braking device, steering device, tire condition, headlights, warning lights, horn, etc.) and those with worn-out tires are forbidden from high-velocity driving.
  • Headlights (high-beam indicators are forbidden), fog light, or daytime running light should be lit when entering.
  • All testing equipment and weights for testing that are to be equipped onto the vehicle’s interior or exterior should be tightly fixed or attached.
  • Entering and exiting on the freight vehicle of pick-up vehicles are forbidden.
  • All vehicles using the testing facility must be equipped with a fire extinguisher. (Excluding two-wheeled vehicles)
  • At night time or days with low-visibility, wearing sunglasses is forbidden.
  • Seat belts must be worn.

Access Control

  • Before entering the facility, you must first communicate wirelessly with the control tower and you can enter when the breaker is lifted. When the breaker is completely lowered, the next vehicle must repeat the same aforementioned steps to enter. (1 vehicle enters for each time breaker opens)
  • Person going in and out of the testing facility must explain the day's testing schedule to the person in charge at the control tower and all those who enter, including the driver, must fill out the access to enter form. (When there’s a change in driver, you must inform us)
  • The person going in and out of the testing vehicle must present their driver's license as well as their access pass that allows them to pass through the corresponding test track, and be carrying a walkie-talkie. The access pass must be attached to the front of the testing vehicle (vehicle hood).
  • The driver of the testing vehicle must check the use time of each testing facility with the control tower upon finishing the usage of the facility. The user must also return the access pass and the walkie-talkie. (The time of finishing the use of the facility is set as the time the access pass and walkie-talkie are returned.)
  • Any vehicle other than the testing vehicle (test assistant vehicles, etc.) cannot enter. If necessary, please negotiate with the person in charge of the testing facility before entering.
  • As for vehicles entering the facility with the purpose of visiting, the research vehicle commander must receive a walkie-talkie and a “guest” access pass and follow the directions of the person in charge at the control tower to enter.

Rules for Wireless Call

  • Handling Method and Terms of Compliance
    • Wireless channel must be set at the designated channel and checked.
    • The walkie-talkie should always be placed near the driver’s seat for easy access inside the vehicle.
    • Calls with other users using the walkie-talkie are prohibited.
    • Only press the call button for wireless transmission.
    • The volume should be adjusted so as to clearly convey the content of the call.
    • The walkie-talkie is delicate and expensive so it must be handled with care. (Must be compensated if broken)
    • Upon receiving the walkie-talkie, move to the corresponding test track and say, “KATRI (walkie-talkie number) number, please inspect walkie-talkie, over” and upon hearing the control tower's response “KATRI control tower, good signal,” you can start the test. If transmission fails, the walkie-talkie should be recollected.
  • Call method
    • When calling the control tower, you must start with, “KATRI (walkie-talkie number) number, control tower respond, over,” and the control tower must respond, “KATRI control tower, please transmit, over.
    • You must say “over” at the end of each message and wait for the other party's transmission.
    • To completely end the call, say, “KATRI (walkie-talkie number) number, call complete.”
